Happy February!! Spring will be here soon!! And the sun is shining today!! I'm getting excited about getting on the road again to visit with Chapters for your spring meetings. If you haven't asked me to come - please do. I'd like to personally meet all the wonderful members of KYSO!! If my calendar is open - I'll be there!! Also, I hope you all are planning to come to the Convention in April. We are excited to be welcoming the past president of DKG International - Becky Sadowski. Also, some fun is being scheduled for Friday night!! Don't forget to invite vendors you may know and to nominate ladies for all the awards available. I've sent the applications to the chapter presidents but can send them again if you've misplaced them. Also, we will again have the silent basket auction so be prepared to bring one we'd all love to bid on!!
As we move into spring, I hope you are "scouting out" potential members. DKG is a wonderful organization and we need to increase our membership to continue "racing to excellence." With my work across the state, I come across a lot of "key women educators." I try to send those names on to the local chapters but you need to be scouting out and inviting them too!!
Also, now is the time to make plans for the International Convention in July. I hope Kentucky will have a large contingent of members. I will be asking the chapters about their wishes for the next International officers. I cast the votes for Kentucky but am voting for YOU!! Check out the candidates on the International website. I'll ask for your input after our convention.
I'm also forwarding the most recent information I've received from International. Please check it all out!!
Keep Smiling!!
Lucy R. Riffle, President KYSO
